This Scripture reading plan is designed to immerse readers in the stories of Jesus’ life and the content of his teachings for an entire year. It is designed to give both overviews of all the gospels as well as self-guided study times in each gospel.

- The year of reading starts on January 10 and goes through the second week of December
- It is composed of seven segments that last six weeks of reading have a week of rest between each of them.
- You will read through all four gospels in six weeks three times, as well as study each of the gospels individually for six weeks.
- Each week of reading consists of six days of reading with a day of rest.
- If you get behind (or start late), just pick up where you left off… but don’t compromise your times of rest.

- Daily readings are designed to be approximately equal in length (download the map) and can be read a different times during the day or all at once.
- These times are designed to give you an overview of the four accounts of Jesus life, so most of the time will be spend reading, rather than in depth studying.
- If you see something you want to know more about, write a note in the margin of your Bible or in a journal so you can remember to look more closely at it during the time of study for that book.
studying a gospel for six weeks…
- These times are less structured in their schedule so you can spend as much time as you need in certain sections. (You might spend a day on all of Matthew 4, but two or three days on the 10 beatitudes in Matthew 5:2-12.)
- Your Scripture readings will be smaller here, but that will free up time to use outside resources to study the context of the passages more, as well as find answers to your questions.
The goal of a disciple in Jesus’ time was to follow his master so closely that he would literally be covered in the dust of his rabbi’s feet.
So follow closely.
And just as Mary, sit at the feet of the Rabbi. Learn from his teachings. Watch his every move as you follow him around the ancient Near East. But most of all, get covered in the dust of your Master’s feet.
